“I therefore hold you responsible for the damage already suffered and to be suffered by me and will tomorrow file a complaint against you with the police for defamation and slander,” he wrote in response to De Koekkoek’s statements. “Furthermore, I hereby let you know that your smear campaign and that of the Supervisory Board have been ‘successful’ now that I have decided to step down completely in the interests of FC Volendam.”
The former FC Volendam, Ajax, Feyenoord and Orange player says he is no longer available as vice-president and to step down from FC Volendam completely as long as this supervisory board is there. The board headed by chairman Jan Smit had appointed Molenaar as vice-chairman, but the appointment was refused by the supervisory board.
De Koekkoek told the newspaper that he was not shocked by Molenaar’s letter.
